Volunteers Help Build Simpsonville Habitat for Humanity Home
Employees from Kemet and local church coalition lend a helping hand.
Employees from Kemet Corp. in Simpsonville are lending a helping hand this spring to help The Golden Strip Church Coalition and Habitat for Humanity construct a house on Havendale Drive off Hibghway 14. Check out the photos of the employees at work on the home above.
The coalition consists of about a dozen churches in the Golden Strip area. They are a non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry working to break the cycle of poverty in Golden Strip communities by partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County to build decent, safe and affordable housing for low-income families.
The main purpose of the coalition is to allow smaller churches with limited resources the opportunity to join together and build a Habitat for Humanity home.
