Photo Gallery: Simpsonville Labor Day Festival

Fun, food, shopping — and rain — highlight this year's festival.

Despite the soggy weather this Labor Day weekend, festival-goers and vendors who attended the 38th Annual Simpsonville Labor Day Family Fun Festival gave the event a rousing thumbs-up.

"We had some really sucky weather, but overall we had a great weekend," said one vendor Monday, as the event braved a second day of rains that caused the festivities to close early.

On Sunday, many vendors said they and festival-goers had to brave a couple of inches of standing water after downpours drenched the festival strip along Main Street.

"Still," said another vendor, "everyone had fun, we had some great crowds when the sun was out, and we can't wait to come back next year."
