Local Golfer Headed to the PGA Tour

Justin Bolli of Simpsonville earns a coveted Tour card in his very last chance of the year.

Simpsonville's Justin Bolli on Sunday won the Web.com Tour Championship with a 6-under 65 at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. With the win in the year's final tournament, Bolli moved into the top 25 money earners and secured a coveted PGA Tour card for next season.

By having a PGA Tour card, a golfer can play in PGA Tour events. Many players also receive sponsor endorsements and advertising contracts. The PGA Tour card provides the player the opportunity to win large purses in tournaments.

Bolli was No. 44 on the money list going into the Web.com Tour's final event of the year. He earned $180,000 to move to No. 9 with his two-shot victory over James Hahn, who birdied the last hole for a 69.

The top 25 on the money list all earned their Tour cards.

“It’s awesome; I can’t say that I expected it because I haven’t been playing my best," Bolli said. "But today was just one of those days where everything went right for me and I just stayed out of my own way.”

In addition to Sunday's win, the 36-year-old Bolli recorded four top-10 finishes in this year's 27-event Web.com Tour (formerly Nationwide Tour).
