Hillcrest Rams Get Ready for 2013 Football Season

Team now practicing in full pads in advance of their opening game tilt against rival Mauldin later this month.

The 2013 Hillcrest Rams football squad took to the school's proving grounds this week donning full pads as they prepare for their Aug. 30 season opener.

The team, led by head coach Greg Porter, will open their season at arch-rival Mauldin on Friday Aug. 30, at 7:30 p.m.

The Rams won last year's contest against Mauldin on their home field in a stunning, come-from-behind 44-42 victory after nine straight losses to the Mavericks.

The Rams also will take part in the Mauldin Football Jamboree on the Mavs' field in a scrimmage against the Wren Hurricanes on Aug. 23.

The team will seek to rebound and improve on their 5-7 record from last year and an opening round playoff loss to Dutch Fork High.
