Randolph Chandler Student Recognized for Her Artwork

Bonnie McEachren receives honorable mention in US Attorney's logo contest.

Bonnie McEachren, a student at Ralph Chandler Middle School in Simsponville, was among 10 students statewide to make the final cut for the US Attorney's Office 10th Annual Project Sentry Logo Contest.

McEachren received honorable mention in the Grades 6-8 Division.

The overall winner was Karla Moore, a student at Strom Thurmond High School  in Johnston.

The statewide contest gives South Carolina students an opportunity to tell the entire state how they prevent gun violence in their school. The contest was open to students in all South Carolina schools. The winners were chosen from 416 entries from 26 schools across South Carolina.

The winning entries were selected by “The Insiders,” a select group of students from the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice, who travel throughout the state, encouraging troubled children and promoting community awareness of the prevalence and consequences of juvenile crime.
