Funerals for Murdered Simpsonville Businesswoman, Son Will Be Monday in Easley

Sandra Thomas and her son Daniel Gabriel Smith were murdered Thursday night in Easley.

The funerals for a Simpsonville business owner and her son will be held Monday afternoon in Easley.

Sandra Lee Michelle Smith Thomas, 42, and her son, Daniel Gabriel Smith, 15, were killed on Thursday in Easley.

Pickens County deputies discovered their bodies Thursday night after responding to a 911 call made by Daniel.

Pickens County Assistant Sheriff Tim Morgan said that Thomas’ husband, William “Danny” Thomas, 61, killed his wife and stepson, then turned the gun upon himself.

Morgan said the shootings appear to be the result of an going dispute between Sandra Thomas and her husband.

Sandra Thomas owned and operated Doggie Styling in Simpsonville.

Daniel Smith was a 9th grader at Easley High School and a member of the junior varsity football team and the wrestling team.

Teammates and teachers remembered Daniel as a young man with a big heart who loved making people laugh

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 3, in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with Greg Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens in Pickens.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens.
