Car Chase Leads to Simpsonville Manhunt

Authorities were looking overnight for man who fled wrecked car after leading police on a chase.

Authorities on Thursday night were searching for an unidentified man who led them on a short car chase before crashing his vehicle and fleeing on foot.

According to Fox Carolina, Simpsonville Police and a K-9 unit from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office were looking for the suspect after attempting to pull him over in the Hunter's Wood area shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday.

After initially stopping, the suspect drove off and led officers on a chase until he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree on Willow Branch Drive.

The suspect then fled on foot, leaving behind two injured female passengers who were taken to the hospital, the report said.

While the suspect wasn't believed to be dangerous, Simpsonville Police urged residents of the Westwood and Hunters' Woods neighborhoods to be on the lookout and use caution, the report said.
