Mumford & Sons Coming to Simpsonville

Popular and critically acclaimed folk-rock band to hit the Charter Amphitheatre stage in September.

The chart-topping, Grammy Award-winning English folk-rock band, Mumford & Sons, is coming to Simpsonville.

The band will set down at Charter Amphitheatre at Heritage Park in Simpsonville on Sept. 11, the venue announced.

Mumford & Sons will be backed by fellow British bands The Vaccines and Bear’s Den.

The announcement of the Simpsonville show comes on the heels of the band's temporary loss of band member Ted Dwane, who recently suffered a blood clot in his brain, resulting in the cancellation of several high-profile headlining gigs, including the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee.

However, recent news reports said the musician is on the mend and is expected to make a full recovery.

Since forming in 2007, the band has experienced a steady climb to international success. The band's second album, Babel, debuted at number one in the United States and the United Kingdom in 2012, and was the nation's second-biggest selling debut of the year.

The album also won the 2013 Grammy Award for Album of the Year
