Independence Day at Charter Amphihteatre in Simpsonville, featuring the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, returns this year with great music, fireworks, and a free Kids Zone.

Though the weather looks iffy, the event will go on rain or shine.

The gates will open at 5:30 p.m. for children’s activities, which include bounce houses, face painting, and balloon animals; the Greenville Symphony Orchestra concert will begin at 8 p.m. Crowd favorite, Cannoneers, are returning this year to thrill audiences with their contribution to the finale of the 1812 Overture, followed by an awe-inspiring fireworks display.

For this event, guests are permitted to bring blankets and lawn chairs (no restrictions). There are no additional parking fees and no parking upgrades available without the purchase of a VIP table. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnics (food and non-alcoholic beverages), though there will be concessions for sale on site as well.

Admission is $5 per person in advance and $10 per person the day of the show, $5 for children ages 3-12 and free for those 2 and under.

Additionally, the concert is also offering a VIP Package to include premier seating, parking and complimentary food and beverages. VIP Tables include 6 seats, VIP parking passes, dinner and drinks. Individual VIP tickets are also available.

The Ticket Office at Charter Amphitheatre will be open July 3 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m., and beginning at 1 p.m. on July 4. Tickets may also be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, and at all Ticketmaster outlets.
