Hey Simpsonville: Five Things to Do This Weekend

Stay close to home and be entertained this weekend right here in the Golden Strip.

The hills are alive this weekend… "The Sound of Music" will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 5-6, and Oct. 12-13 — and also at 3 p.m. on Oct. 6-7, and Oct. 13-14 — at the Fountain Inn Center for the Visual & Performing Arts, 315 N. Come see the pretty carp…. The 2012 Regional SC Koi & Goldfish Show will be held this weekend from 3-6 p.m., Oct. 5-6; 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 6; and, 10 a.m.-3p.m. Oct. 7 — at the Simpsonville Activity & Senior Center, 310 W. Curtis St. The show is free. 

Cover me…. The Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild will present the 15th annual Aunt Het Quilt Show from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 6, and from noon to 4 p.m. on Oct. 7, at the Fountain Inn Activity Center, located at 610 Fairview St. Visit ntquilt-guild.com.

Speaking of Aunt Het…. The 29th Annual Aunt Het Family Fall Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 6, in downtown Fountain Inn. The festival will feature a H.L. Hunley submarine replica, not to mention the Classic Antique Car & Truck Show. Registration for the car show is $10 for each vehicle. In addition, a food drive will collect non-perishable goods for God's Pantry. In addition, there will a 5K race at 8 a.m. to benefit Lauren's Hope Foundation. To register, CLICK HERE.

Can we build it? Yes we can!…. Lowe's Build and Grow Kids Clinic will be held at 10 a.m. at the Hendricks Branch Library, 626 NE Main St., in Simpsonville, for ages 4 and up, with an adult. Registration is required. Call 864-963-9031.
