Fundraiser Set for Simpsonville Family Beset by Tragedy

Come help support the Webster family this Sunday.

Friends of a Simpsonville family are holding a fundraiser this Sunday as the family deals with a string of tragedies.

One daughter is in remission after fighting leukemia, and the eldest daughter, who also was injured in the crash that killed her father, is battling pancreatic cancer.

"We are asking the community to really come out and support this family," family friend Erin Darnell told Fox Carolina.

The June 2 fundraiser will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Simpsonville Activity Center at 310 W. Curtis St., where Webster was a long-time volunteer volleyball coach.

In addition to volleyball games, the fundraiser will feature a silent auction, raffle, and bake sale. Auction items include TVs, restaurant gift cards, and signed items from former USC Gamecock running back Marcus Lattimore, Fox reported. All proceeds will go to the family.

A memorial fund, the Kevin Webster Memorial and Children's Benefit Fund also has been set up at First Citizen's Bank.
