Simpsonville Man Indicted on Fraud Charges

Feds indict Kevin V. Robinson in alleged mortgage scheme.

A Simpsonville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for his alleged participation in an illegal mortgage scheme, U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said Thursday.

Kevin V. Robinson, 39, of Simpsonville, and Scott L. Lemons, 35, of Surfside, S.C. were charged in a three-count federal indictment with mail fraud, in connection with an alleged illegal mortgage scheme involving a Myrtle Beach condominium development.  

The maximum penalty each could receive is 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.  

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney T. DeWayne Pearson of the Columbia office for prosecution, Nettles said.
